The first step: The installation was a social occasion prior to the opening of the ‘official’ exhibition. A waitress served a plate of fresh carrots with dirt. When she served the carrot, she whispered to the visitor: “Please bite the carrots as quietly as possible.” The second step: In the middle of the exhibition, the audience was asked to move outside the gallery to watch an opera performer singing a song through the gallery window. The third step: People returned to the gallery and were invited to eat the carrot that was hanging from the ceiling. They were not permitted to use their hands, but if they could not reach it, they were allowed to jump, but had to jump quietly.
